Facebook Live Now Available For Groups And Events

Since becoming available Facebook Live has proven to be a great success and continues to grow in popularity as it allows users to instantly share in real-time important moments with others.


And now following on from this first successful phase, Facebook have announced the release of additional functionality for Facebook Live to give you more ways to discover, share, and interact with live video, and more ways to customise how you do your live broadcasts.

Going live in Groups allows you to broadcast to just the people in the that particular Facebook Group so you can go live in your family group, or share a workout plan in a art appreciation  group as an example as you are visiting an art gallery or museum.

Live in Events means you can go live from a wedding or 21st birthday celebration to allow those who can not be present to be included.  Events can also be used to schedule a live Q&A session.

New Interactive Features: Live Reactions, Replay Comments, Live Filters

Facebook Live is by its nature interactive:

Live reactions, replaying comments made while live and  makes it easy for your viewers to express their immediate reactions in real time during a live broadcast.

This is the same reactions functionality that was previously launched in the News feed where viewers can select from: Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry and the reactions animate right on top of the video. Importantly Facebook have reported that people comment more than 10 times more on Facebook Live videos than on regular videos.

Facebook have also improved the ability to customise the look of the broadcast by including a set of 5 Live Filters that allow for the personalisation of  their live broadcasts. As well the the ability to draw or doodle on your video while live will be coming in the near future.

Additionally a visual way to explore public live broadcasts that are currently happening around the world, Facebook are releasing Facebook Live Map on desktop. People from over 60 countries can now share live video. The Facebook Live Map opens up the curtain to what is happening as we speak in all these countries.
